BIOENGINEERED SHORELINE AND HILLSIDE STABILIZATION
ShoreSOX® is a patented, high-performance erosion control system designed with both the environment and stakeholders in mind. Engineered with a cutting-edge rip-stop technical mesh and an integrated anchoring system, it harnesses locally sourced organic material or dredge spoils to deliver instant compaction and lasting stabilization. This low-impact, eco-friendly solution doesn’t just stop erosion, it revitalizes vegetation, enhances water quality, and restores shorelines and hillsides with unmatched efficiency.
HOW IT WORKS
1. ANCHORS
Anchors are essential to securing the system in place. Designed to withstand environmental forces like water, wind, and shifting soil, they ensure the mesh remains stable and effective over time, protecting the shoreline and maintaining structural integrity.
2. KNITTED MESH
At the core of the SOX system is our double-layered knitted polyethylene mesh. This technical mesh forms the structural foundation, engineered to resist water flow, soil movement, and environmental wear. It delivers long-term erosion control while supporting vegetation and maintaining a natural appearance.
3. TETHERING & CONNECTING
This component involves tethering the mesh to both top and bottom anchors, folding it at the toe, and sewing the ends shut. This precise configuration ensures a tight, secure fit that prepares the system for filling and long-term performance in the field.
4. FILL MATERIAL
The SOX system is compatible with a wide range of fill materials such as mulch, compost, dredge spoils, or stone, allowing for flexibility based on site conditions, project goals, and environmental regulations. This adaptability makes it effective across diverse applications.
5. VEGETATION
Our patented ripstop mesh allows vegetation to grow directly through the material, supporting methods like direct planting, sodding, hydro-seeding, or natural colonization. This not only enhances erosion control but also promotes a green, natural aesthetic.
FEATURES
RIPSTOP
Our knitted mesh is engineered with ripstop technology. If the material is punctured by a mower blade, the damage stays contained and won’t unravel; the tear remains a small, easily repairable hole. This makes it ideal for installations that require cutting around trees, pipes, or other infrastructure, maintaining the integrity of the system, even when cut or torn.
MODULAR
Thanks to its ripstop design, the material can be cut, sewn, and joined into panels of any shape or size. This modularity allows for custom configurations that adapt to the unique contours and needs of each site, much like assembling a tailored quilt for the landscape.
UV STABILIZED
Engineered for durability, the material is UV stabilized and tested under ASTM standards to simulate long-term sun exposure, even without soil or vegetation cover. It exceeds industry benchmarks, especially in high-stress environments like steep slopes and shorelines, ensuring long-lasting protection and support for vegetation growth.

LIGHTWEIGHT
Despite its strength, the material is remarkably lightweight; two people can easily carry a 100-foot roll. With no need for heavy machinery, a single person can quickly unroll, drag, and position it on-site, keeping labor requirements low and the process efficient.
WEIGHTBEARING
While lightweight, the system becomes weightbearing as water washes the sediment into the system and creates instant compaction. This provides immediate stabilization, making the surface safe to walk or even drive on, ideal for active job sites.

SLOPE INTEGRATION
Unlike systems that require regrading or sit awkwardly on top of terrain, this solution integrates directly into the existing slope. It minimizes site disturbance and conforms naturally to the landscape, offering a more seamless and environmentally sensitive alternative to traditional methods like riprap or Geotubes.

BENEFITS

Brookside Country Club, OH
400 Linear Feet
At Brookside, aesthetics were paramount. Over 400 feet of shoreline were stabilized without disturbing the natural contours of the landscape. By following the organic shape of the embankment, ShoreSOX delivered invisible protection, preserving the beauty while ensuring long-term safety.

Big Oaks, TX
300 Linear Feet
A 300-foot shoreline restoration at Big Oaks demonstrated ShoreSOX’s in-field flexibility. Initially designed to reclaim 6–10 feet of lost land, the system was quickly modified mid-install to extend further into the water, thanks to its modular design and adaptable anchoring. This project exemplifies how ShoreSOX can evolve with stakeholder needs on the fly.

City of Indian Harbour, FL
1,700 Linear Feet
This 1,700-foot installation tackled complex infrastructure challenges beneath a bridge and pedestrian walkway. Working entirely from the water side, the team deployed underwater anchors and tethered the system beneath the structure to stabilize the embankment. A powerful example of ShoreSOX protecting critical infrastructure in demanding environments.

Oro Valley, AZ
1,600 Linear Feet
Installed during early construction phases, this 1,600-foot project around a lined pond leveraged existing site resources for a fast, efficient build. ShoreSOX stabilized loose soil on a plastic liner, creating a vegetated slope that integrated seamlessly into the broader construction plan. A model of how SOX supports new development.

Palmetto Cove, SC
210 Linear Feet
This 210-foot shoreline restoration reclaimed up to 8 feet of land while navigating tight constraints posed by nearby roads, curbs, and light posts. Anchors were placed with precision to avoid interference with existing infrastructure. Most importantly, the project was completed without causing disruption to the surrounding community, demonstrating ShoreSOX’s ability to deliver safety, beauty, and efficiency in sensitive, high-traffic environments.
